&body=We are designing a family compound on a 10-acre property in the Sierra Foothills. The site is a sloping, north facing, wooded ridgeline that looks over the American River Valley 2,000 feet below. At the high point of the property three building will form a courtyard. First to be built will be the "barn", a workshop and office over a large garage/utility area. Next will come a 1,200-square-foot, two-bedroom in-law cottage, followed by the main house (2,500 sq. ft.), and finally a pool house and pool in the yard below. The final plans include olive orchards and trails to the year-round streams found here.&
